Susan Edgman-Levitan, PA, is Executive Director of the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation at Massachusetts General Hospital, a lecturer in the Department of Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), an Associate in Health Policy, Harvard Medical School, and an Instructor, Harvard Chan School of Public Health. She was the co-chair of the Patient Experience Leaders Committee at MassGeneralBrigham Health System for 13 years and leads the patient/clinician engagement work for the MGH Palliative Care Continuum Project.

Prior to MGH, Susan was the founding President of the Picker Institute. A constant advocate of understanding the patient’s perspective on healthcare, she has been a principal investigator on the Yale/Harvard Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) study, and is a member of the Lucian Leape Institute at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Senior Fellow at IHI. She is an editor of Through the Patient’s Eyes, a book on creating and sustaining patient-centered care, The CAHPS Ambulatory Improvement Guide, and many other publications. Ms. Edgman-Levitan serves on several boards and national advisory committees, including the ABIM Foundation, the AHRQ National Advisory Council, the Primary Care Collaborative and the Patient Experience Policy Forum. She received the Leadership and Innovation Award from the Center for Information Therapy, the 2016 Inaugural Richard Nesson Award from the Massachusetts Health Quality Partnership, the MassGeneralBrigham Nesson Award for System Collaboration in 2020 and is an invited member of the Future of Health International Collaborative and serves on their Executive Committee. Susan holds degrees from the University of Michigan and the Duke University Physician Associate program, where she received the Distinguished Alumni Award and was inducted into the Duke University Medical Center Hall of Fame in 2004.

Erica

Erica Cross, PA

PA

Erica is a board certified Physician Assistant. She obtained her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge, LA. She began practicing in 2011 and has worked clinically in Orthopedics and Dermatology. The majority of her career has been spent in a Dermatology practice where she assisted in Mohs surgery, treating various types of skin cancer. She also teaches in the medical simulation department at the University of South Alabama and enjoys every aspect of medical education.
